“Ivy Taylor was diagnosed with Alzheimer disease in 1998, throughout her illness she dealt with a lot of confusion of who she is? And who others are to her? The collection tries to get into the mind of Grandma Ivy, by using colour, shapes and imagery to depict her memories.
It does not only stay stagnant with Ivy Taylor’s memories but expands to her life as a migrant in Britain with strong holds of her culture. People who came from the Caribbean to live in the United Kingdom have an imprint of the home country while they embrace a new ‘British’ identity.”
